Cross Country States

Luke Drew, Associate Producer

On Saturday, November 10 Bobby Adams and Kyle urban went to states for cross country in long island. Bobby held his own as usual and Kyle continued to surprise everyone. Kyle is a freshman. I talked to Carll about the outcome of the season and how everything turned out. He talked about how in sectionals, Bobby and Kyle finished second and third out of around 150 kids. Carll couldn’t have asked more out of the team and Bobby and Kyle. The experience going to states according to Carll, is amazing and you have to be in the moment to really experience it. Getting used to the course and being around so many talented runners is a great experience. Coach Carll cannot wait until next season because there is still a lot of talent on the team. Carll is going to recruit more team members because it takes 5 runners to be considered a team. Kyle who was recently the Athlete of the Week, is only a freshman. He came in 22nd  place in states. He is a fantastic runner and leader. Kyle also runs track, and is in the musical. He was the lead role “Aladdin” in the middle school musical and is going to be in his first high school musical, one of the biggest productions put out by Alden High School, “Mary Poppins”. He is involved with many extracurricular activities and is a positive influence.  Bobby is a senior and we were happy to have him back one last year. Bobby is a positive influence and is a leader on and off the course. Bobby runs track and swims for Alden High School.
