With students facing great changes this school year, mindfulness has become more important than ever. I got to look deeper into some of the ways that Alden High School has incorporated mindfulness into the 2020 school year. With the option to take a mindfulness class, and Wellness Wednesdays every Wednesday of in person learning, students have plenty of opportunities to be mindful. I spoke to Mrs. Tanner, who teaches the mindfulness class here at AHS, and two of her students. With 2020 being such a crazy year, Alden High School puts student’s mental health first and encourages everyone to try and practice mindfulness, unleashing all of its benefits.
