Senior Girls Basketball Farewell

Senior+Girls+Basketball+Farewell

Conrad Boucher, Sports Reporter

The Girls Varsity Basketball has done a tremendous job this year ending the regular season with a 13-7 record. Seniors on the team Sara Augustine, Cookie Altieri, Anne Kocher, Olivia Palizay, and Julia Wrest helped the team grab 13 wins in the regular season and come second in the division behind Tonawanda.

The girls moved onto sectionals and lost a tough fought game against CSAT. The game was back and forth for most of the first half and our girls really showed some energy to start the game. During the second half CSAT started to pull away from the Lady Bulldogs, but they kept fighting their way back into the game. CSAT finally got a good run against the Bulldogs and it was too much to overcome. The Bulldogs never gave up during all four quarters, but they fell short to CSAT with a score of 39-30.

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team consisted of five seniors this year. Sara, Cookie, Anne, Olivia, and Julia were all big parts of the teams success this year. The girls finished with a final record of 13 wins and only 8 loses throughout the season. The impact that these seniors have left on the underclassmen is unforgettable. Their work ethic, determination, and overall passion for the game of basketball will hopefully fuel the underclassmen to work just as hard as their fellow seniors.

Thank you to all the Senior girls for their hard work throughout years in the Alden Basketball Program. We wish you the best of luck on your journeys after high school and hope that your time spent playing basketball for Alden will never be forgotten.
