Band-o-Rama 2019
March 11, 2019
Band-o-Rama is back again! This annual Alden concert consists of students in band from grades 4th through 12th, held in Alden High School’s gym. Led by Alden’s three band teachers, Mr. Larrabee, Mrs. Nieman, and Mrs. Nye, the event started a few years ago and continues the tradition again this year on March 5th. The entire band is composed of hundreds of students. Each band plays a set of a few songs and together, the entire band plays the finale. This year, the band will be performing a tribute to the band “Queen”. Some songs being featured include “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”. The concert starts on one side of the gym with Mrs. Nye and her 4th grade band. Gradually by grade level, each band plays two or three songs, all the way up to the high school bands. This order allows the audience members to hear the music progression of the instrumentalists from the beginning, all the way up to seniors in high school. This night is also a big deal for the fourth graders in band because this is their first band concert. The first show will be Tuesday, March 5th at 6:00pm, followed by a second at 7:30pm. Tickets are free but are required to enter the concert. The bands hope to see you there!

I think it’s cool that all the kids can get together and play to the school, the band teachers do a wonderful job teaching everyone what they need to know how to play wonderfully.
