Varsity Bowling Season Preview
November 22, 2019
Winter is upon us at Alden High School and that means the start of my favorite season: Bowling. To get the hot take on this brand new season, I asked Mrs. Stoldt, the coach of the Varsity boys and girls bowling team, and some of our Alden bowlers what their goals and expectations are for this brand new season. “This season is going to be difficult,” says Mrs. Stoldt, “because we have to fill the void of the seniors that graduated last year.” “The boys team actually won their division last year, so it will be difficult to replace them.” She commented, “I always tell my bowlers that, while we may not be the best team, we will be the classiest team, which means keeping our emotions in check. You have to overcome obstacles to thrive and become great at the sport. I also interviewed Marty Rzepka and Sydney Skimmer, two veteran bowlers on the team. “I feel like we have a lot of new talent on the team and that we will do pretty good this year, despite many of our best bowlers graduating.” said Rzepka, when asked about how feels the team will do this year. When asked about her goals for the season, Sydney replied that she “wants to try and break most the girls’ bowling records in the school and lead the team to more wins than they had last year.” Good luck to both the boys and girls teams on their brand new season.
