The winter sports season is coming to an end. Alden high school had 9 winter sports this year. The girls varsity basketball team had a great regular season but fell short in their first playoff game against the Depew Wildcats. The boys varsity basketball team lost their first playoff game against City Honors. Cheerleading was in many tournaments but won 3rd at Tonawanda and 2nd at Ferdonia. At the end of the season they took home 4th at ECICs and 5th at sectionals. The boys varsity swim team went to ECICs and won their class which is class B. Alden/Iroquois hockey had a great season, but fell short to West Seneca 2-1 in the prequarter finals. Girls varsity bowling had a great regular season and Sydney Skimmer is going to states hoping to win it all. Tony Cometto recently went to states for Varsity rifle and he won it all. What a great achievement. With all these winter sports coming to a wrap its now time for spring sports to take over.
