Student-Run Manufacturing Business in your Backyard
What is Bulldog Manufacturing? Almost every student at Alden High School has heard the name, but most don’t know exactly what it is.
Bulldog Manufacturing is a student-run manufacturing company right here in Alden. I spoke with the operations manager, Cheyanne Witmer, to get a more in-depth view of Bulldog Manufacturing and what it takes to be a part of it. “We aim to provide quality custom products for the community while also educating students with real-world experience.”
The company is split into two different departments, manufacturing and business. The manufacturing side consists of the manufacturers, floor supervisors, welders, design crew and laser engravers. The business side consists of the operations manager, sale representatives, marketing team and business administrators.
Students who are interested in taking Bulldog Manufacturing in the future are encouraged to take classes that relate to it such as, DDP, Metals, etc. It is also suggested that students who are interested speak with Mrs. Buell, Mr. Turton, or Mr. Eggink.
Cheyanne described the class as “a great experience” and “a learning environment” that she thinks students will love. Don’t forget to check out the Alden Bulldog Manufacturing website where you can meet the team and learn more information about them.
