School Lunch Reviews
Alden High School offers free lunch due to the pandemic. We are a part of the National School Lunch Program, a federal subsidy initiative. The school lunches have five components: a meat/meat alternative; grain; fruit; vegetable; and milk. Of these five components, only three need to be chosen to make up a complete reimbursable meal. One of the three items must be a fruit or a vegetable.
I sat down with Bobby Kersten and asked him if he would recommend school lunches. He had a few great things to say about the lunches.
“If you’re a pizza guy, you have got to try this out,” Kersten said. The only piece of constructive criticism he offered was a request for milk that is “not low-fat chocolate milk.”
Overall, Bobby recommends school lunches to students. Stop and grab a lunch sometime this year. After all, it’s free!
