Cancer is a disease that has killed millions a year. The loss that people experience is something completely out of their control. Thats why Youth Against Cancer exists—to help people who have cancer and aid in the search for a cure.   

Youth Against Cancer is a club at AHS that holds fundraisers and events to raise awareness and money for cancer research. They do this because many of the members have experienced loss from cancer and they hope they help others who are affected by it. Every year in October they sell pink merchandise to spread awareness about breast cancer. 

“Cancer affects everyone,” said club advisor Ms. Williams

Youth Against Cancer exists specifically to help the people who are affected by cancer said club member Alex Lysiak. 

“Youth against cancer definitely help people in many different ways, especially in Alden and within our community whether it’s a student who has a situation where that individual unfortunately has cancer,” Lysiak said, adding that he hopes more people will eventually join the club and make it bigger.
