WACS News at Alden High School is a student-run multimedia production class that connects the school and community through creativity and storytelling. It allows students to explore their interests in video, graphic design, and reporting while developing real-world skills.
Led by teacher Mr. Dabkowski, WACS covers school events, community stories, and daily announcements, acting as a hub for district-wide news. The program includes general reporters, a Community Outreach Department, a Sports Department, and many more, ensuring everything from local initiatives to athletic highlights gets proper coverage.
Entertainment content, such as TikToks and the “In the Hall” series, adds humor and personality, while the Screens and Socials team designs graphics for social media and school displays. The WACS website centralizes all content, making it accessible to everyone.
More than a class, WACS fosters creativity, collaboration, and pride, giving students the chance to connect with their community and share its stories in innovative ways.
