Continuing the series, Player Spotlight, we chose Tom Bednarski, player on the Varsity Baseball team. Tom has shown over his previous two years on the Varsity team why he deserves to be this weeks spotlight.

Last season Tom had a pitching record of a perfect 5-0. In addition to the mound, he batted around .400 at the plate. When it came time for the Bulldogs to play in some big playoff games, Bednarski helped the team in both departments. In the sectional game against Springville in Gowanda, which didn’t end until around midnight, Tom threw a 3-hitter and also struck out 13 batters. To break a 0-0 tie, Tom hit a bases clearing 3-run triple. Two days later in the overall Class B Sectional game Tom contributed to the team’s offense with 2 more triples.

This season he hopes to continue his success as well as the team’s. Bednarski was chosen as captain for the Bulldogs along side Tim Pellittieri and Bryan Cybulski.
