Sensational Student Isabelle Czechowski
April 25, 2017
Once again its time for another Sensational Student! This week, we’re taking a trip over to Alden Middle School to visit with Middle School Band Teacher, Mrs. Nye. She brought to my attention a young trombone player who shows her leadership skills in front of her peers and at home.
Isabel Czechowski is this weeks Sensational Student and proves to be deserving of it. She is President of the sixth grade band and loves having the ability to spread her leadership to others. Isabelle will conduct the band when Mrs. Nye is not present, which is impressive only being in sixth grade. She found her passion for music in fourth grade when she began playing the trombone. Isabelle is part of the middle school mini band and their jazz band. To help recognize deserving members of the mini band, Isabelle started a poster for young artists that go above and beyond in rehearsals.
Another thing Isabelle works towards is spreading music to the younger grades. She wants kids to grow into music rather than simply be thrown into it. Isabelle demonstrates her music ability to interested students to see if they would like band in general or a specific instrument or not. Once again, her skills as a leader and band member are exceptional. Simply having her positive outlook on life gives her the leadership skills she is recognized for. I met with Isabelle and she showed me some of the stuff she works on in the band room including another poster with some ideas on how to be the best you can be and a simple reminder poster. These are just a few other things that make Isabelle stand out. Congratulations Isabelle and keep up the sensational work!
