Alden Central Schools proudly introduced this year’s Superintendent’s Permanent Art Collection inductees at the June 1, 2017 Board of Education meeting. It was a joyous occasion to not only celebrate the arts, but to acknowledge thee students and their families on this historic accomplishment. Each of the four honored students created an artwork of superior artistic quality while also exemplifying what it takes to be an artist. This year’s winners were Riley Schilling, grade 5, Abigail Corcoran, grade 7, Alexis Strasser, Gr. 12, and Shelby Kocher, Gr. 12. The students’ artworks will have a permanent place in the Alden Central School District and each student was awarded a certificate of artistic achievement from Mr. Stoltman, ACS Superintendent. The ACS Art Department would like to extend their gratitude to the honored students, families, Board of Education, building principals and Mr. Stoltman for their support of the Arts.
