Winter Sports Are Here

Alex Leigh, Anchor

Winter is upon us and for those athletes who are playing, so are the sports that come along this season. With this new season basketball tryouts have just wrapped up and the season is in full speed ahead as the countdown until the first games are getting smaller and smaller. I met with Coach Delzer and Trybinski for both the boys and girls varsity teams, and they had all positive things to say in regards to their future season, who they have on their team, and their ultimate goal as a team. With both of the teams having their first season games next week, everyone get outside and come support your bulldogs. Last week I also shot over to the rifle range an caught up with the varsity rifle team with Coach Eggink. Along with these sports the new season of cheer has started with the snows of winter. This is the largest team Varsity Coach Mrs. Santopolo has ever had and this seems to be sparking a positive attitude. They have a much more widespread team and Coach looks forward to having a team with widespread skill levels. Due to complications, I was not able to meet with the varsity bowling team but we will see how great their season went before spring starts. Now looking back a season we had some amazing athletes run with the best in the state with Becky Kron and Sarah Golas going to cross country states. I met with their coach, Ed Carll to hear how it went and what he had to say. Congratulations  Becky and Sarah and keep up the great work Bulldogs.

Overall winter sports are looking good here in Alden. Come support all of your bulldog teams an watch their first games and meets.
