Promposal Tips and Tricks

Sam Bizub, Producer

With prom season quickly approaching, promposals are popping up left and right. Promposals are creative ways to ask someone to prom. Many promposals are funny or relate to the person you are planning on asking. Students typically make posters with cheesy sayings or give their potential date a small gift that relates to their promposal. Since the huge out-pour of these ideas appeared on social media, it has become a popular way to ask your significant other. You don’t necessarily have to be “going steady” to prompose though. Promposals can be for anyone, even if you are just going as friends. Some are very big, flashy, and public. Others are scaled down and more personal.

I thought that some of Alden’s finest teachers would like to talk more about promposals and give some advice to students planning on participating in this popular move. Most of the teachers did not know or fully understand what a promposal was exactly. After I explained the concept to them they all gave similarly themed answers- have fun and be yourself. That’s probably the best advice to give in not just this scenario, but any scenario. Good luck to anyone planning on promposing this season!

Prom will be held at Samuel’s Grand Manor on Main Street on May 18th of 2018. The junior-senior prom is run entirely by the junior class of 2019. They had the responsibility of fundraising, booking a location, choosing a theme, a menu, and decorations. Many of the prom decorations will be centered around a rustic light garden. It will be a beautiful night full of dancing, laughter, pictures, and most importantly; memories. Tickets will go on sale after spring break.
