With the Vision 20/20 Project starting soon here at Alden High School so has the proposition for the new track and field. Here’s some quick facts about the new field.

During this process  the school must finish up the drawings of the field, have New York State Education Department approve it, send construction bids out to building companies and pick the most reliable building company, and then the building process begins.

The school hopes to start the building process in the spring of 2019 and hopefully have it done by the fall of 2019. Since the project will be underway  in spring they’ll have all of next year’s track meets on the road.  Our school’s Athletic Directors, Mrs. Guathier and Mr.Partell, will be in charge of planning  the schedule for all the fall sports teams that will be using the field. Since they have recently installed the new stadium lights there is room for all teams to play on it even if that means later games and practices.  Another perk of the new field will be that they have it planned for it to be lined for several field sports games. This means that Alden could quite possibly host E.C.I.C.’S and sectional games for other sport teams. Also, the track will be opened for public use throughout the year, as well as the turf field for recreational sport use.

Alden’s new field will be blue with a red track.
