On Saturday April 29 the Boys Alden Track teams traveled to West Seneca for an invitational track meet. The team did a great job coming in second place only losing by two points to the invitational host: West Seneca.

The team gets points for every top place finish in each race. The higher a team’s place, the more points the team earns. Key points for the boys track team at the invitational were:

100m: Christian Snell 3rd

200m: Christian Snell 3rd

400m: Jeremy Jeziorski 3rd Charlie Varshay 4th

1600m: Adam Czech 2nd Bobby Adams 4th

Triple Jump: Alex Leigh 3rd

4x100m: Alex Leigh, Colin Skowronski, Riley Pastusynski, Christian Snell 3rd

4x800m: Conrad Boucher, Tre Samsel, Carl Farrell, Josh Jeziorski 2nd

Discus: Colin Skowronski 3rd

All of these top place finishes and more helped the team rack up over 100 points in the meet to come in second just behind West Seneca. The boys did a great job and proved how well rounded the team really is. Coming in second at this meet was a good accomplishment because the competition was very tough. Teams like Canisius, West Seneca West, West Seneca East, Kenmore West, and Amherst were all competing at the meet.

The boys track team has so far showed that they can compete with some of the better schools around and is looking for a divisional title this year. If the boys keep up their hard work they definitely have a chance at beating their rival East Aurora to win a the divisional title this year.
