Alden Senior High Bonfire

Timothy Hinsken, Anchor

Alden Senior High School held its 2nd annual homecoming bonfire on October 10, 2018 to promote school spirit and get everyone in the mood for homecoming. The bonfire went from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm and the cost of admission was $5.00, which included entry, pizza, and drinks. Mr. Domino and a few Student Congress members were the driving force behind planning the bonfire and all the activities that were there. In addition to the bonfire, there were many lawn games including corn hole, ladder ball, and kan-jam. The Alden Hook and Ladder Company was also in attendance as a safety precaution to make sure everyone was safe while the bonfire was occurring. Students from all grades were in attendance and, from what I heard, had a fun time and would go to next year’s bonfire. Mr. Domino thought the bonfire was a success and thought that everyone was having a good time. The entire homecoming court attended, which also helped get people excited for homecoming and promote the dance on Saturday, October 13. During the bonfire, there was a DJ playing music and the Alden Senior High School mascot, The Bulldog, was dancing and keeping everyone in great spirits. Everyone I talked to said that the bonfire was a lot of fun. They also encouraged other students to attend the next bonfire because it is a good way to spend time with your friends and kick off the homecoming festivities. I had lots of fun at the bonfire and encourage everyone to go to the next one.
