Brookelyn Coia, General Assignment Reporter

Meet Brookelyn Coia, a 14-year-old sophomore at Alden High School known for her outgoing personality and infectious energy. With four siblings—including Joey and Lexi Coia, who are familiar faces at the school—and two supportive parents, Brookelyn brings a lively spirit to everything she does. Her favorite activities around school include interviewing people and getting involved in events, always bringing a sense of humor and fun to the table.

As Brookelyn looks ahead to her future, she’s already set on a career path: “I plan on going to college to be a nurse,” she says. Her passion for helping others shines through, and she’s excited to pursue nursing after graduation. In the meantime, she’s enjoying sophomore year. “It’s been good so far,” she shares, “though we’re not that far into it yet.”

Brookelyn’s love for WACS started with her brother, who was a part of it, and seeing him in action made her want to join in. “It just looked fun,” she explains. Her enthusiasm for interviewing others and being part of the school community keeps her motivated and engaged.

Looking back on her childhood, one standout memory involves a bounce house incident that left her with a broken elbow. “I was little, and me and my brother were in the basement,” she recalls. “I got out of the bounce house the wrong way, and that’s how I broke my elbow.” Despite the injury, it’s a memory that still makes her smile.

As for upcoming events, Brookelyn has Halloween plans with friends, possibly doing a group costume, though they haven’t settled on what it’ll be yet. She’s also looking forward to the fall festivities and plans to head to Frightworld this weekend with a group of friends.

Whether she’s making people laugh, planning her future as a nurse, or just enjoying her sophomore year, Brookelyn Coia’s lively spirit and passion for life make her a standout student at Alden High School.
