Claire Estrada, Assistant Engagement Editor/Social Media

Meet Claire Estrada, a sophomore at Alden High School who is not only active but also a dependable and kind presence in the school community. She’s involved in numerous activities, including the play, musical, Donate Life, Friends of Rachel, and Yearbook Club, and she proudly serves as the president of the Class of 2027. Claire’s commitment to her peers and positive outlook makes her someone everyone can count on.

When asked about what she enjoys most about school, Claire says, “I’d probably say just my friends and the teachers. I like walking into class and having people ask how my day is going.” She finds joy in those daily connections, and it’s clear that her friendships and supportive relationships with teachers are a big part of what makes her high school experience special.

Outside of academics, Claire loves being involved in theater. Whether it’s the play or the musical, she enjoys the opportunity to perform and spend time with her friends. “I really like being on stage and performing,” she shares. “It’s just fun to hang out with everyone.”

Claire also stays active on the tennis team, where she enjoys the sport’s relaxed atmosphere and the camaraderie with her teammates. “I like how it’s such a fun sport with not too much stress,” she explains. “And I really like hanging out with my friends during practice.”

Looking ahead, Claire is thrilled about an upcoming school trip to Italy. “I’m so excited,” she says. “It’s going to be like an eight-day-long sleepover with my friends and classmates.” She’s looking forward to the adventure and the chance to make memories abroad.

When asked whether she considers herself a good person, Claire humbly reflects on her efforts to be kind and considerate. “I think I’m a good person because I try to care about other people’s feelings like I would want them to care about mine. I always make sure everyone’s included in the conversation and look out for everybody,” she says, emphasizing her focus on keeping positivity in her life.

With her many activities, leadership roles, and caring nature, Claire Estrada exemplifies what it means to be an engaged and compassionate student at Alden High School.
