Gwen Krieb, Publisher

Gwen Krieb is a senior at Alden High School whose dedication to her community and her passions shines through in everything she does. Whether she’s leading student organizations, playing varsity soccer, or contributing to school news, Gwen’s commitment and enthusiasm are contagious. Her bright smile and bubbly personality light up every room she enters, and her determination inspires those around her.

As an active student leader, Gwen takes on several important roles. “I’m the publisher of WACS News, peer wellness president of Student Congress, and vice president of Key Club. I’m also in NHS and Donate Life, and I play on the varsity soccer team,” she shares. Gwen has been playing soccer since she was four or five years old, although it wasn’t love at first sight. “Honestly, I hated it at first, but now I love it,” she laughs. Soccer has since become a huge part of her life, and it’s the strong friendships and bond with her teammates that she treasures most. “All of them are my best friends, and we’ve been playing together for so long. It’s crazy, and I’m really sad that this is my last season with them,” she reflects.

When it’s time to get hyped before a game, Gwen’s go-to song is Taylor Swift’s “Better Than Revenge.” “Me and Marisa always get turnt to that,” she adds. Despite her love for the game, Gwen is ready to hang up her cleats after high school. “I don’t think I want to continue my soccer career after this year. A girl is tired,” she jokes.

Looking ahead, Gwen is excited about her future. “After high school, I definitely want to go to college. I want to major in communications or journalism and expand the skills I’ve already touched on here in WACS,” she explains. Gwen Krieb’s leadership, talent, and passion for making a difference have left a lasting impact on Alden High School, and she’s ready to take on whatever comes next with the same energy and enthusiasm that defines her.
