Donate Life is arguably the most popular club at Alden High School. But how much do our students really know about blood donation? We quizzed AHS students with blood drive trivia questions to prepare them for the Connect Life Blood Drive at Alden High School on November 22nd.
Blood donation can be intimidating. It is vital to educate our community on the impact their donations can make. Through Connect Life, donated blood is given to people in need in our Western New York Community. Donating only takes minutes out of your day.
“If you are sixteen, you may be eligible to donate,” said Donate Life Club member Corinne Bishop. “A single donation can save up to three lives.”
Donated blood is vital for lifesaving procedures involving burn victims, cancer patients, and more. It is key to educate our school community on why donations are so important, and help students overcome uncertainty surrounding blood donation.
Encouraging our students to donate is essential in our current world, where there is always a need for blood. Donations from our small AHS community can save lives this holiday season. For more info on upcoming blood drives and how to donate, visit ConnectLife.org.
