Throughout the month of September, Alden High School’s students and staff worked tirelessly to make a difference in their community. Collecting over 15 bins of food and personal necessities, they aimed to support local families through their annual Huddle for Hunger food drive. On Monday, September 30th, Student Congress Officers proudly delivered these bins to the Alden Food Pantry, ensuring their donations went directly to those in need.
While Alden High School earned second place in this year’s Huddle for Hunger challenge, the school’s commitment to giving back extended beyond the competition. Understanding that Feed More Western New York does not directly serve the Alden community, the students took it upon themselves to continue the drive independently. Their goal? To make sure that their efforts would benefit families within Alden itself.
The school saw overwhelming participation from students, staff, and community members. Contributions ranged from non-perishable food items to essential hygiene products, each helping to ensure no family in the community would go without basic necessities.
A special thank you goes out to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported the cause. Your generosity has made a significant and lasting impact on the lives of local families, embodying Alden’s spirit of unity and care.
