The Alden Spooktacular event returned this year with a night full of frights, costumes, and family-friendly fun. The event’s recap video captures the spirit of the night, with interviews from dedicated students who brought the haunted trail to life.
Campbell Jones, a junior who dressed up as Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc., reflected on her role, sharing that her favorite part was interacting with the kids along the trail. “I loved taking pictures with them,” Campbell said with a smile. Campbell, who first participated in Spooktacular as a trail guide in eighth grade, enjoyed returning to the event but hinted that next year she might go back to guiding rather than dressing up, despite the fun of her inflatable costume. “It was hard to get around, but it looked really funny,” she laughed, explaining why she’d consider wearing it again despite the challenge.
Addy Bolles, dressed as a Sabres player and guiding guests along the trail, shared her experience of being involved for the first time. Her favorite part? Simply walking around, seeing all the creative costumes, and enjoying the Halloween spirit with friends and community members.
This year’s Spooktacular proved to be another success, with its mix of spooky decorations, a popular trunk-or-treat setup, and a haunted camper for those brave enough to venture inside. Even those who couldn’t make it through every part of the event found themselves fully immersed in the excitement of Alden’s favorite Halloween tradition. The Spooktacular showed once again how Alden students bring creativity and enthusiasm to everything they do, making it an unforgettable night for all.
