Alden Middle School is gearing up for an exciting production of Moana Jr., featuring a talented cast of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. These dedicated students have been putting in weeks of hard work during rehearsals, and they can’t wait to share their performance with the community. Before the big shows in January, let’s meet some of the stars bringing this adventurous story to life!
Mikenly Tryka, an 8th grader playing Moana, loves being part of the musical and encourages others to join for the memories and fun. “You’ll make lots of great memories,” she said. Andrew Bolles, also in 8th grade and playing Maui, is looking forward to seeing all their hard work come together on stage.
Maeve McConnaughey, who plays Sina, treasures the time spent with friends outside of school during rehearsals. Meanwhile, 7th grader Landon Fabozzi, playing Chief Tui, finds the experience of performing with friends a great way to have fun after school.
Kylee James (Takah) and Olivia Ripstein (Tafiti), both in 8th grade, are savoring their time on stage as this is their last middle school musical. “I love acting, and being on stage as an 8th grader is really special,” Olivia shared.
The Ancestors—Alex Aston (8th grade), Olivia Winling (7th grade), and Madyson Necci (6th grade)—round out the cast, bringing depth and character to the show.
