With the 2024-2025 school year halfway through, juniors should start thinking ahead to their senior year. To help underclassmen prepare, a guidance counselor and two seniors shared their insights on the challenges and expectations of senior year.
Seniors emphasized the importance of maturity, responsibility, and staying motivated—even when “senioritis” kicks in. They also encouraged underclassmen to get involved, expand their friend groups, and take time to appreciate the moments that make senior year special.
Guidance counselors work closely with seniors to help them navigate their next steps, whether that means college, the military, or the workforce. Through individual meetings, they help students highlight their strengths and prepare for life after high school.
Senior year comes with new challenges, but with the right mindset, it can also be one of the most rewarding times of high school.
