Alden CSD School Bus Caught Fire on Campus Wednesday
April 6, 2016
10:30 am: WACS News received a report of an Alden school bus on fire this morning shortly after 10am. Students report observing smoke coming from the bus parking lot behind the Transportation Department’s bus garage. We know that Alden Fire has been dispatched. More details to follow.
12:38pm: We have obtained the following statement from our District Office:
“At approximately 10:15 this morning an ACSD bus driver reported smoke coming from the engine of a bus parked in our transportation lot. Our transportation department immediately notified “911” and moved the surrounding bus fleet. The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes of the initial report and there were no injuries. This particular bus is not used as part of our daily runs and in fact has not been on a trip for well over a month. I would like to thank the Alden Hook and Ladder Fire Department for their quick action and assistance in this matter.”
– Mr. Adam Stoltman, Superintendent of Alden CSD

It’s a good thing no one was hurt. If the fire had spread something worse could have happened. Thanks to the fire department’s quick response it didn’t get worse.

I am glad that no one was on the bus at that time. Also thanks to the Alden Hook and Ladder Fire Department. I am glad that they got there fast before a bigger safety fire hazard happened. I am glad that no one got hurt.
