Buffalo Bandits Come to Alden Primary School

Kelsey Crawford, Producer

On April 11th, the Buffalo Bandits came to Alden Primary School to teach the students about bullying. Mark Steenhuis, Mitch Jones, Dhane Smith and Anthony Malcom with special guest Rax, the Buffalo Bandits mascot, came prepared with a presentation introducing who they are and why bullying isn’t good.

The players had interactive lacrosse demonstrations to teach the kids a little about the sport. They picked a few volunteers to dress a fellow classmate with lacrosse gear to see who could do it the fastest. They even had the students shoot on net trying to score on Rax. The Bandits also got the teachers involved by giving them the opportunity to partake in the shootout.

After the assembly, Mitch Jones had a few words to say about the programĀ and why they do this for the kids. “We spread an anti-bullying message and tought them the right values and the things that got us to where we are today,” says Mitch.
