In Alden there is a variety of different AP courses to take. These are advanced courses that can even be used for college credit in the future. If you plan to start taking these courses you can start in sophomore year.

One course that is available as a senior in Alden is AP Biology. AP Biology is a course designed for a student that wants to advance to a medical career or something to involve biology. The course layout calls for  major topics which include: evolution, cellular processes, energy,  and communication. This course is not designed to be easy. The course is offered for students that want to achieve above an beyond.  This course can only count for college credit if you score the accepted score on the examination. For AP biology some colleges accept lowest a three. If you score below a three, the course will not get college credit.
