Thanksgiving Celebration at World Of Wonders Pre-K

Samantha Bizub, Producer

Last Wednesday, I visited the World of Wonders Preschool located in the Primary School, for their annual Thanksgiving Feast. Mrs. Wendy Bizub, the World of Wonders’ co-director and teacher, told me about feast and all it entails. Every year the kids help make the meal that they and their invited guest eat. They have a different menu each year. Some of the pervious menus have consisted of spaghetti and garlic bread. Served on this year’s menu was pancakes, sausage, homemade applesauce, and pumpkin muffins. The students help flip the pancakes, brown the sausage and peel the apples. They also learn a song and poem. This year’s poem went along with the theme of being healthy. Mrs. Wendy emphasizes the importance of washing your hands and and trying not to spread germs. The song they performed was an original rendition of “Do You Know the Muffin Man?”(full video linked below). Everyone loved the performance, including the kids. There were a lot of smiling and proud parents in the audience. I then got the chance to talk to some of the preschoolers about their favorite parts of the feast. The pancakes seemed to be a crowd pleaser. A lot of kids showed me the crafts they made in class; a pumpkin that says what they are thankful for. From mom and dad to food, the kid’s responses did not disappoint.  Thank you to World of Wonders Preschool for giving me the chance to attend your feast. Great job to all of the kids and teachers for all of their hard work and preparation! Here is the link for the full song: https://youtu.be/rHoianLOUhw
