Maddie Murdoch, a sophomore at Alden High School, is not just an excellent student and a beloved friend among her peers; she embodies kindness, creativity, and an adventurous spirit that sets her apart. Growing up in Depew, Maddie cherished her childhood alongside her supportive family—her mom, dad, and younger brother, Carter. Her journey through early education in Depew and Lancaster eventually led her to Alden, where she discovered an environment rich with opportunities for self-expression.
Transitioning to Alden schools became a pivotal moment for Maddie. Describing her experience, Maddie explained, “I like Alden schools. They have a lot of ways for you to express yourself and they have a lot of different clubs and programs for you to do.” These avenues allowed Maddie to explore her passions and meet like-minded individuals who encouraged her growth.
Looking to the future, Maddie aspires to enroll in BOCES for cosmetology when she becomes a junior. She envisions a future intertwined with creativity and artistry following her education. As she put it, “Next year, when I am a junior, I want to try to get into BOCES for cosmetology. So after school I will probably go into something with cosmetology. I like art.” Maddie’s fascination with art and her eagerness to craft a fulfilling career path shone through in her ambitions.
Beyond academics and career goals, Maddie embraces life with a zest for exploration. Travel holds a special place in her heart, as she and her family often embark on adventures together. These experiences contribute to her dream of success and a comfortable, loving family in the future. “I just like, I want to be successful in life. And I want to be comfortable when I grow up and like, have a good family,” she shared.
