During this past summer a new and exciting social media app has gone viral and stepped into the spotlight. TikTok is a social media video app for creating and sharing short lip-sync, comedy, and talent videos. This app is most popular among students ranging from middle school to college age as a creative space to express themselves. Many students here at Alden High School have this app and are frequently using it to reference jokes and/or videos they found unique.  I thought it would be a great idea to give some of the faculty and staff here at Alden High school a chance to fully experience this viral app themselves. I asked Mrs. Hazen, Mr. Fecio, and Mrs. Osucha if they were up to the task. All agreeing to re-create some of the most iconic and most referenced TikToks for themselves adding their own twist. Mr. Fecio, or Jimbo as students call him, re-created the ‘Choose Your Character’ TikTok. You will see him playing different roles/jobs he covers throughout the day. Mrs. Hazen re-created the ‘Wiki-How’ TikTok. By looking up how to teach on wiki-how, using pictures of course, it taught her new and exciting moves to use in the classroom. Mrs. Osucha agreed to re-create the ‘Repeat After Me’ TikTok. Emphasizing how her end of the day task includes waiting outside for the buses while her WACS News students patiently await her arrival back for advisement.
