Earlier this week, Lyle Grant, along with his Coach Jared Lemke, made the adjustments to the wrestling record board located in the high school gymnasium.  This season, Grant surpassed the record for most wins in a wrestling career with 177.  This was just one of the many accomplishments of his wrestling season.  This year, Grant amounted to a 42-4 recorded which included first place finishes in the Batavia tournament, ECIC’s, the Kent-Ton tournament, Class, and Sectionals.  All of these competitions were just stepping stones along the way to the big show.  He competed at the NYSPHSSA State wrestling tournament where he brought home an impressive second place finish in the state.  Lyle has had a long and lucrative career with Alden sports and it will be hard to watch him leave at the end of this year.
