Among the many changes that you will see around Alden High School this year, in addition to the new lights on the football field, our players will be donning new jerseys! After six years, the team designed and ordered brand new fitted jerseys and pants.  I had the chance to speak with the head coach of the varsity team, Rob Currin to get some input. “After six years, it was certainly time for an upgrade.  It’s exciting for the boys and it’s just another reason for them to be excited about football season.”

Nick King a current varsity player has given us his feedback on the considerable change. “ Personally I love the new jerseys because they feel more fitted to my pads and feel less baggy when I wear them without pads. Although the new jerseys are thicker than our previous jerseys, they offer a more breathable material.” Nick also included that he thought the new cloth has brought a stunning look to the field.

Josh Chester a wide receiver on the Varsity football team also believes the jerseys look fantastic on the football field agreeing with his fellow teammate. He also added that the jerseys “feel more like they could be worn by professionals.”

Alden High School is extremely excited to not only have an addition to the school spirit but to make their varsity football players happier. I have had many other JV players on the team excited to be receiving the varsity’s old jerseys because they are new to many of them.
