The Boys Varsity Soccer Team moves into the final three games of the regular season with a very respectable overall record of 10 wins and three losses. In their divisional match against Eden, the Bulldogs came ready to play. A stand out defensive performance by Dominic Sabia added to the defensive wall of Owen Kissell, Zachary Long, Matt Schuh, and Adam Wood to help Justin Evoy earn the shut-out. Adam Wood showed some offensive skills and assisted on Nate Nuwer’s goal in the 61st minute to put Alden on the scoreboard. Brad Kibler sealed the 2-0 win with two minutes remaining off a pass from Jeremy Jeziorski.

Alden hosted Akron on Homecoming for a non-league game. The Bulldogs absolutely dominated possession with great midfield play by Ashton Wilson, Conrad Boucher, and Matt Schuh. The offensive attack by Andrew Long, Max Penke, Nuwer, Kibler, and Jeziorski kept the ball deep in Akron territory and had dozens of scoring opportunities. However, it was a free kick outside the Alden penalty area in the 62nd minute that determined the game. Despite Alden’s best passing performance of the season, Akron’s strategy to stack all their players in their defensive third of the field was enough to get them the 1-0 win over the Bulldogs.
