Girl’s Soccer Takes Part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Girls Soccer Takes Part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Kayla Derenda, Sports Reporter

For the past several years the girls JV and Varsity soccer team have contributed to breast cancer awareness month. At the beginning of October both entire teams donate $10 each to breast cancer research in exchange for a pink shirt to represent breast cancer patients and survivors. Almost every team in Western New York does it as well. It’s a great way to symbolize unification as a community that supports our family and friends battling breast cancer. The shirts have a different design on them making them different and appealing every year. Before every game in October the girls soccer team wears them as warm-up jerseys to warm-up in as well.

“I love the pink the field shirts”, quotes Senior Captain Cailyn Bennett.

Everyone enjoys the pinks and they’re a great asset to have during the month of October.
