Varsity Girls Volleyball Enters a Nail Biter Against Springville!

On Wednesday October 5th, 2016 the girls varsity volleyball team had an away game at Springville. This game was a close one but the girls came out on top with the victory. First set of the game a few players stood out. Star player sophomore, Shelby Kirsten the middle hitter had a great run. She had a total of 11 kills and 6 blocks. Outstanding effort was contributed by Sara Augustine to end the first set with serving 7 aces in a row. 25-18 this gave the Bulldogs one under there belt. The second set of the game senior Cookie Altieri who is an outside hitter had a total of 10 kills and 5 digs. This gave the Bulldogs an early lead. Springville replied to the Lady Bulldogs and came back to take the lead 23-14. The Griffs thought they had this one locked away for their first win, but the bulldogs reacted fast and senior Anne Kocher, outside hitter put the ball down to come back and take the win 27-25. This gave the Lady Bulldogs there second set win. The third and final set of the game senior Anna Dusalt, setter led the game with 26 assists. Anna currently leads the team with most assists. Freshman Emma Wlostowski the teams defense specialist helped the girls with 17 digs. The bulldogs were too much for the Griffen’s to handle. The girls ended this game taking all three sets.
