Varsity Volleyball Sends The Batavia Blue Devils Packing!

On October 13th, 2016 the lady bulldogs played the Batavia Devils. The last time the bulldogs were matched up against Batavia was last season and Alden took a tough loss. This years game was held at Alden High School at 6:00 pm. The girls were a dominate force in the first set with senior Brooke Strausbaugh, middle hitter, cremating the Blue Devils with her consecutive hits ending the first set 25-15. Anna Dussalt lead the team with her assists giving of the girls 10 sets each with a total of 30 sets. The bulldogs confident after there first win of the set, entered the second game to a unsteady start. Unfortunately the bulldogs lost there fight and fell to the Blue Devils feet and took a tough loss.  The lady dogs bounced back quick and started off strong to take the third set of the game. Star players Shelby Kirsten and Olivia Palizay contributed with great serves and incredible digs. This gave the bulldogs a pretty big gap in between Batavia and the Bulldogs ran away with the third set win. The devils came back to enter the fourth set constantly tied all set long with the bulldogs. Devils were determined to win this next won but the girls proved them wrong. They came back and won the fourth set with a score of 25-16. Great job ladies, way to fight!
