Middle School Pancake Breakfast

On October 15th, 8th grade students served up pancakes and sausage to fundraise for their trip to Philadelphia in May. Students were each given a job and they could choose from greeting, cleaning, taking tickets, or serving. The greeters welcomed each guest with a, “Good Morning,” and held the door. Cleaners walked around  wiping down tables, asking if anyone needed any more juice or coffee and taking trays back to the kitchen once guests were finished. Those who took tickets either took a prepaid ticket for each guest or sold them one at the door. The servers passed out pancakes and sausage with syrup while helping the teachers make the pancakes. Many 8th grade teachers cooked up the pancakes and sausage and helped the students serve them. I got a chance to go through the fundraiser and was impressed by all the work that the kids put in. No guest was ever left unattended and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The turnout was better than expected with over 400 tickets being sold just in pre-sale. Even more community members bought tickets the day of. The proceeds from this event went towards the upcoming 8th grade Philadelphia trip. Students who sold tickets got money for each ticket that they sold. The tickets that were sold at the door went to a general fund for the students. This trip will take place the weekend of May 19th, 2017, and students are very excited. This fundraiser should be a great help to those looking to go on the trip. Thank you to those who came out to support the 8th graders and good luck to them on their trip. To keep up on all the Middle School news and events keep an eye on the WACS News page and social media.
