Alden’s Boys cross country recently took first place at the Section 6 Cross Country Championships. The team was led by captain Adam Czech with a time of 17:15. Sophomore sensation, Bobby Adams was right on his heels, finishing with a time of 17:19. The difference maker of the race was rookie runner Josh Jeziorski. Simply put, Josh ran the race in beast mode. He ran his fastest time of the year! Josh posted a time of 17:54 and was the third man in for the Bulldogs. Carl Farrell finished just two seconds behind Josh to putting the Bulldogs in a great position to win the meet. The fifth runner in was David Andrzejewski with a time of 18:03. This solidified the win. If that wasn’t enough, Jordan Servos (18:24) and Dylan Collosanti (19:19) answered any question about who the best team in Class C was with their times. The boys dominated the race and will be moving on the New York State Championships in Brighton this Saturday.

Alden Girls cross country finished 3rd overall in the recent Section 6 Cross Country Championships. The team was led by rookie Sarah Golas who finished 2nd overall with a time of 19:37. Captain, Becky Kron finished 3rd overall and will be returning to the State meet for the second time in her career. Savannah Warner ran her last race for the Lady Bulldogs. Savannah finished in 13th place and has been a key member of the Varsity Cross Country team for five years. Teammates Samantha Minotti, Alyssa King and Mckenzie Gaffney did their part to allow the team to finish 3rd overall. Always confident Head Coach Ed Carll added this: “When it comes to Cross Country in this area, the Alden program has established itself as a dynasty. I don’t know what else to say.”
