Boys Basketball takes it to JFK

Matthew Schuh, Reporter

The boys went into JFK last week looking to get a win after losing the first game after a big lead heading into the second half.  The boys came out early and were playing hard.  The Bulldogs got an early 8 point lead 3 minutes into the quarter, then Alex Leigh came into the game and hit 3 early three pointers.  Alex finished off the first quarter with 12 points making 4 of his 5 three pointers.  The bulldogs finished the quarter with a nice lead and a lot of confidence.

The second quarter started with a little run from the Bears getting them back in the game, but the boys went on a run of there own extending the lead.  Nathan Lund went on a rampage getting a lot of boards hitting the floor every time there was a loose ball and putting up some points on the score board for the Bulldogs.  Junior Joshua Jeziorski hit a buzzer beater at the end of the half to extend the lead.  The boys had another good quarter giving the boys a 8 point lead into half time.  The team was excited going into the locker room and everyone was ready to get a win at JFK.

Going into the third quarter everyone was a settling down a little bit and more focused on playing hard.  The JFK Bears made a run and got themselves back into the game soon taking a 2 point lead.  Coach T. took a timeout looking to get his team more focused and into the game, and that they did the Bulldogs went on a run of their own and took it to the Bears for the rest of the quarter playing hard and hitting some tough shots.  Senior Conrad Boucher hit a last second three pointer at the end of the quarter to extend the lead for the bulldogs to 5.

The Bulldogs entered the fourth quarter seeking victory.  The Bulldogs never let off the gas hitting shots making their free throws and playing solid defense as the time ticked down.  The team was ecstatic to get another win and a really good win too.  This was the best all around game the boys have played all season as every aspect of the game was there from the players on the bench to the layers on the court.  The boys won the game safely as they got there 4th win of the season at JFK.
