Boys Varsity Basketball squared off against the Cleve Hill Golden Eagles this past Tuesday and gave the Eagles a run for there money.  The Bulldogs have not beat Cleve Hill in the past 5 seasons.  Senior Conrad Boucher told the whole team how much he wanted this win as he has never beat the Eagles in his 3 seasons starting on Varsity.  The boys all wanted to get the win for Conrad and to help their division standings going into sectionals.

The boys started of the game with a small lead and would hold that through the whole first quarter.  There was great defense from both teams in the first quarter which kept the score low.  There were not many turnovers by either team in the first quarter.  The game was very close going into the second quarter.

Going into the second quarter the boys had a small lead.  There were many more fast breaks which lead to some easy buckets for the boys.  Nathan Lund had a great game keeping their big man who was much taller than anyone on our team from getting offensive rebounds.  Christian Snell also was helping put on the boards as he grabbed 12 rebounds.  The boys played another solid quarter as they went into the locker room at the half with a 6 point lead.

Coming out after the half the Bulldogs started where they left off playing solid defense and not letting any shot go uncontested.  Junior Bradley Kibler had a good game off the bench as he made a couple threes for 6 points in the game.  The game was still close though as it was approaching the end of the third quarter.  The Bulldogs held the lead going into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter was a very interesting quarter as the game became a game of runs by both teams.  The Bulldogs were led by senior Conrad Boucher who had 11 points in the game and controlled the ball for the boys.  The Eagles got back into the game with a couple of threes from their point guard.  The game was down to the last 2 minutes with a 5 point lead for the Bulldogs.  This became a game of who could make there free throws.  The game was down to under a minute with only a two point lead.  The Bulldogs took a timeout with 3 seconds left on the shot clock as the ball was passed to Bradley Kibler from an inbound play.  Kibler hit a clutch three over the high hand of the Eagles to extend the lead and ultimately seal the game for the boys.  The Bulldogs were ecstatic as the final buzzer rung and they final got a win against Cleve Hill for the first time in 5 seasons.
