This past Saturday the Alden Bulldogs track team was invited to the Niagara Falls Invitational.  The top two athletes in every event were allowed to attend this meet.  Alden was represented well with the many athletes that were invited to Niagara Falls.  The athletes were strong in almost every aspect of the meet with having an athlete place in all events but two.

The Invitational began with a 4×800 meter relay, the girls were before the guys and we had a good relay team consisting of Becky Kron, Emma Martin, Ashleigh Strasser, and anchor Savannah Warner.  The girls ran a great race finishing second in the relay.  The boys ran second with a great relay consisting of Adam Czech, Carl Farrell, Conrad Boucher, and anchor Joshua Jeziorski.  The boys also ran a great race finishing second overall.  We had phenomenal relays at the invitational with a great girls 4×400 meter relay consisting of Becky Kron, Haley Tyburski, Ashleigh Strasser, and Savannah Warner as the anchor again, the girls ended up finishing second in this event as well.  The boys also had a great 4×400 meter relay consisting of Jeremy Jeziorski, David Menzies, Joshua Jeziorski, and anchor Charlie Varshay, the boys relay ended up finishing third overall.  Also at the invitational was the girls 4×100 meter relay, consisting of Peyton Zelasko, Ava Eichenser, Sara O’Connor, and Sara Augustine, the girls ran a good relay finishig third overall at the invitational.  The boys also represented Alden well in the 4×100 meter relay consisting of, Alex Leigh, Colin Skorwnski, Riley Pastuzynski, and anchor Christian Snell, the boys ended up finishing second overall in a very close race to the finish line.

Alden also represented well in the field events, Starting with the long jump, Cookie Altieri for the girls represented well with a jump that put her in the finals and led her to finish fourth overall at the meet.  We also had Riley Pastuzynski jump for the boys and made it to the finals with a great jump but he ended up only finishing in fifth place but still had a great day.  We also had a decent day with our triple jumpers, having Alex Leigh represent the boys and having a jump just shy of 40 feet and that jump was good enough to have Alex Leigh place fourth over at the meet for triple jump.  We have also had Mike Handley for the boys pole vault clearing  height of 11’6″ finishing 4th overall.  We also had Junior Sara O’Connor for the girls pole vault clear a height of 9’6″ and finish 3rd overall. So congratulations to all the athletes who were at the meet and placed in there events.
