This upcoming week is one of the biggest of the school year. Homecoming 2018 is set for October 9th-13th and with it comes many preparations. Events include but are not limited to hallway decorating, class floats, and themed spirit days. This year, the theme for each class float is cartoons. The seniors have Spongebob Squarepants, followed by the juniors with Charlie Brown, sophomores with Phineas and Ferb, and freshmen with Scooby Doo. Just like every year, the classes are getting quite competitive and the competition is tough. Most information is kept secret between each class but I sat down with each class president to learn more. The seniors plan on recreating Bikini Bottom in their hallway and the sophomores would like to include Phineas and Ferb’s backyard. Mr. Domino, advisor for student congress, sat me down with Claire Ritchie, the treasurer of student congress, to explain the days of spirit week. Since Monday is Columbus Day, spirit week starts on a Tuesday this year. Tuesday is Groutfit Day. Students should plan on wearing an all gray outfit such as gray sweatpants and sweatshirts. Wednesday is Buffalove Day so any blue and red, 716 inspired, or Buffalo jerseys are promoted. Thursday and Friday remain the same as past years. Thursday is Dress Like Your Float Day so all classes will be decked out in their best cartoon character costumes. Finally, Friday is Blue and Gold Day in support of the football team having the big homecoming game that night. Best of luck to each class this year and Go Bulldogs!
