This Wednesday, October 2nd, varsity girls soccer goalie Alexis Grassl broke the career shutout record against Springville with a 2-0 win. Throughout all four years of her varsity seasons on the girls soccer team, Alexis Grassl has aquired a total of 29 shutouts with seven being in the current 2019 season. During the record breaking game against Springville, Alyssa Attardo and Shannon Wypij came out strong in the first half with one goal each and defense kept strong throughout the rest of the game. I had a chance to speak with Alexis Grassl on how she felt over the record of shutouts being broken this year. This record being broken just recently helped contribute to the girls varsity team becoming division champions. During the interview, I asked questions such as:

Over the course of your high school career, you have been the varsity goalie for all four years. Can you describe the overall experience of each season?

When you learned that you were going to break the record, what was your first reaction?

How do you feel your team and coaches contributed to the overall success in the amount of shutouts you have achieved?

What are your aspirations for the rest of the senior season?
