On Wednesday afternoon, Alden High School’s long-awaited Bills visit came to fruition. The gym filled up with red, blue, and white as hundreds of eager students awaited the big reveal. We welcomed guests from FeedMore WNY, as well as Buffalo Bills DJs and two players. With hype music blaring in full force, the suspense kicked in immediately until Mr. Domino finally said …

“Please welcome Buffalo Bills player #73, offensive tackle Dion Dawkins, and #88, tight end Dawson Knox!”

Applause and cheers blared through the gym as the two players made their way in. They kicked off the event with a student and player Q&A before FeedMore WNY presented the school with a special football. The Bills left no time for the excitement to die down as the event continued with trivia, giveaways, and plenty more music.

The student and player trivia team clinched the win, led by Knox, Dawkins, Noah G., Michelle N., Anthony K., Josh R., and Tyler T. However, Mr. Stoltman was tough competition, leading the staff team with Mr. Foss, Mrs. McMahon, Mr. Partell, and Miss Hiller.

Three lucky students — Mason Urso, Jayden Baker, and Kendall Shadle — were selected to win two signed helmets and a Knox-signed football.

Afterwards, some more students and staff had the opportunity to take photos and get jerseys signed by the players before leaving. This special day certainly lived up to its hype and anticipation.

Alden High School is grateful for this opportunity and we’d like to send a huge thank you to FeedMore and The Bills. With Bulldogs Bust Hunger 2.0 going on now, our journey does not stop here. Together, we really can be stronger than hunger.

GO BILLS!
