Since last school year, there has been lots of change in the history wing of Alden High School. New faces have been teaching classes and new rooms have been occupied. Let’s dive deeper into learning about these new teachers.
So far this school year, Mr. Luksch, Ms. Behlmaier, and Miss Salim have been doing a phenomenal job adjusting to their new jobs here at AHS. Knowing how hard settling into a new place can be, this story helps to showcase the personalities and thoughts of these three teachers. Being aware of who is teaching our kids is important in making school a comfortable place for everyone.
“My favorite part about teaching would probably be the fact that you don’t do the same thing every single day,” said Mr. Luksch. He also shared some fun facts about himself, one of them being that he has a dog named Bentley. Mr. Luksch is also involved in coaching many sports here at AHS.
The other two teachers had similar things to say about their favorite things about teaching, their goals for their careers, and the differences they hope to make in the district. Among other things, they all also shared who they have been grateful for throughout the process of getting settled into their new positions.
“My whole social studies department has been so welcoming and helpful in getting me settled in here,” said Ms. Behlmaier. “I also have a wonderful mentor with Sara Cometto, art teacher. She’s been really taking me under her wing.” Along with Mrs. Cometto, Mrs. Santiago and Mrs. Williams were also mentioned as mentors.
