Bulldog Manufacturing, Alden High School’s student-run company, offers hands-on experience in various fields within the manufacturing industry. Through roles in CAD design, marketing, sales, and manufacturing, students are equipped with real-world skills that prepare them for future careers and opportunities.
Students like Sylvia Witmer, the president and CAD technician, and Maddy, the marketing lead, work behind the scenes managing the company’s design and branding. Meanwhile, Steven Syracuse, who focuses on sports-related sales, and Addy Washburn, a manufacturer, are gaining valuable insights into the sales and technical aspects of the business.
The company allows students to work with machinery like plasma cutters, gaining practical knowledge in welding and fabrication, and offering insight into various career paths. Bulldog Manufacturing not only helps students refine their skills but also prepares them for internships, careers in skilled trades, or other opportunities after graduation. This unique program provides a valuable stepping stone into the world of manufacturing.
