Battle of the Classes

Joshua Chester, Reporter

On April 14th all grades at Alden High School gathered in the gymnasium to finish of the week full of events with Battle of the Classes. Students from every grade level brought their excitement and class color. Representing red was freshmen, green was sophomores, wearing yellow was juniors, and seniors dressing in Alden blue.

The event started with the 2nd annual Hula-Hoop Race. Students lined up and got ready for the hula hoop to come their way. While holding the hands of the students by their sides, students needed to get their entire body through the hula hoop and on to the next. Juniors took first with the seniors taking second right behind them.

While setting up the egg toss students from each class would attempt to spell out a word with only using their bodies. Each team had ten seconds to get their word spelled while students in their section would attempted to figure out the word. Each class was successful in figuring out the word trying to be spelled out.

Everyones favorite event was back in full force. The annual TUG-OF-WAR! This was the most talked about event the week to see which class is top dog. The first match saw the freshmen over powering the sophomores to move to the finals. The seniors were able to show off the muscles easily beating the juniors. The seniors after four years of defeat, finally took home victory after beating the freshman.

Other events included the egg toss, flower power, and an Easter egg hunt. tied for first was the Seniors and Juniors each with 16 points. The freshmen falling behind with 7 points and the sophomores only getting 7 points. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this an event to remember!
