On Thursday, December 1st, Mr Domino was interviewed about the congress turkey.  The turkey resided in the foyer at Alden High School, specifically near the lunch room.  The turkey’s been up for the Thanksgiving season.  Anonymous people wrote what they are thankful for on a feather.  In total, there were over 150 feathers filled out.The idea came up during a pillar meeting back in September 2016.  Back in 2015, there was turkey trivia. However, due to the current advisement schedule, the school pillar decided to go with the lunch turkey.  According to Mr. Domino, it “turned out to be a really big success”.  He was asked if the lunch turkey would be put up again.  He pointed out that they would probably discuss it at the next pillar meeting.  The objective is to get feedback from students to find out if they enjoyed it and what could be done to make the turkey better.

When it comes to responses from students and staff, most feathers were in the family or friend category.  Turkey trivia was also included with the lunch turkey.  In the end, there were 3 winners. One of the winners was an officer.  The prize was a gift card.  With Thanksgiving over, the turkey was most likely going to be taken down within the next few days according to Mr. Domino.

UPDATE: The turkey was taken down on December 1st.  The very day the interview took place.
